Lenora Flores, 78, went home to her heavenly father on Friday, November 9, 2018.   Born in Shiprock, New Mexico to Wendell and Amy Reid, she is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Arcadio Flores; daughter, Felicia Mayers and grand-daughter Alaiya Mayers; her sisters Rosie (Harding) Yazzie, Eva Hogue; nieces Darlene Tsinnie, Daryl (James) Junes-Joe, Arlene Weaver, Colleen Begaye, Debbie Nelson; and nephews Davis Reid, Terry (Jacqueline) Hosteen, Wilbert (Lucita) Junes, Perry (Loretta) Junes, Delvin (Eleana) Junes;  Tony (Verlene) Kinney, Gilbert Kinney, Stephanie Kinney, Sharon (Stanley) Jim, sisters in law, Angie (Jeff) Philpot Commerce, Colorado, Patricia Flores, Inglewood, California, Maria (Dave) LeGrand of Jackson, Missouri; brothers in law Carlos (Diane) Flores of Anaheim, California, Joe (Kerri) Fitzgerald of Temecula, California, David (Kim) Fitzgerald of Apple Valley, California.  Lenora is preceded in death by her parents Wendell and Amy Reid, her son Eldon Benally, sisters Fern Hosteen, Mary Junes, Julia Kinney, niece Karen Junes, and brother Ralph Pinto.

Laura, as her family called her, was raised in Cove, Arizona.  Her education began at Toadlena Boarding School and ended at Riverside Indian School in Anadarko, Oklahoma.  She was very active in sports, playing basketball, softball and choir. She then worked at the Episcopal Mission Hospital in Farmington.  She later returned to California to attend a dental program.

In 1976 she met and fell in love with her co-worker, Arcadio, at the Industrial Park in North Long Beach, California, they married in 1982 in Farmington, they lived and worked in California throughout most of their marriage.

Her hobbies included crocheting, needlepoint, bowling, cooking Mexican dishes which her mother in law taught her, exercising to maintain her strength, she dabbled in pottery painting.  Laura was a very gentle, kind and giving person, she doted on her parents and her entire family.  She loved traveling and being active, her home is beautiful and alive with flowering plants, her infectious smile, laughter and wisdom will be missed. Laura loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, she loved hearing the gospel, singing Navajo gospel songs and attending bible study sessions.

Viewing for Lenora will be on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Farmington Funeral Home, 2111 W. Apache Street, Farmington.

Services for Lenora will be on Friday, November 16, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Calvary Chapel, 6925 East Main Street, Farmington.  Burial will take place in Shiprock Cemetery.
