Lisa Marie Jacquez-Collins, 53, of Aztec, New Mexico, passed away peacefully to be with our Heavenly Father on February 21, 2024. She was born on September 20, 1970, in Farmington, New Mexico to her loving parents Joe and Liz Jacquez.
Lisa attended Farmington High School and graduated in 1987. Pursuing her dreams, she attended Mr. John's Academy of Beauty Culture and earned her license in Cosmetology in October of 1988.
Lisa spent 30 years in the career that she loved, Cosmetology. She was a natural at making people feel special through her work and also as a dear friend. Lisa had an energetic personality and her eyes would draw your attention but it was her smile, laugh and positivity that kept us entertained. She didn't know a stranger and she was a bright light for many.
Lisa owned and operated Desire's Hair & Nail Salon for several years. She also found success selling Xango. During this time, she traveled, shared her personal story, and continued to meet new people. In addition, she was featured in the book, "YOU make a difference: 50 Heart-Centered Entrepreneurs Share Their Stories of Inspiration and Transformation", by Keith Leon published in 2012.
Lisa is survived by her parents, Joe and Liz Jacquez, daughter Mandie (Jacob) Crane, grandchildren Ella and Max Crane, sisters Audrey (Reggie) Maez, Lisa (Wyatt) Sexton, biological mother Janie Gonzales, sister Eva Gonzales, brothers, Fabian, Sebastian and Adam Gonzales, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Lisa is preceded in death by her loving biological father, Amadeo Segura and stepmom Crucita Segura, brothers Julian Rivera and Tino Gonzales.
Lisa, you are too dearly loved to be forgotten.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 1, 2024, starting with a Rosary at 10:30am am at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Farmington, New Mexico, followed by a Mass and Memorial Service at 11:00am. A reception will follow services at St. Mary's Church Parish Hall.
