Lucy Sylvia Gonzales

Lucy Sylvia Gonzales (76), born on January 24, 1949, in Farmington, NM to Filomino and Rafelita Armenta, passed away on February 11, 2025. She was married to Ray Gonzales until his passing in 1998, a loss she carried with her every day. Lucy's heart was full of love for her four children, three grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

She often went out of her way to cook for her family when they visited, cherished the time they spent together, and loved to shower them with little gifts. She enjoyed shopping, yard sales, and watching Lifetime Movies. Lucy also loved treating her family to meals out whenever she could. For many years, she worked as a dedicated tax preparer, taking pride in her work. Above all, Lucy was known for her unconditional love for her family and her nurturing spirit.

Lucy is preceded in death by her husband, Remijo Ray Gonzales; her baby girl Gonzales; her parents, Filomino and Rafelita Armenta; her brothers, Ubaldo Trujillo, Rufino Armenta, and Luis Armenta; and her sister, Clara Maes.

Lucy is survived by her sons, Ray "Jeff" Gonzales and Neil Gonzales; her daughters, Terri Gonzales and Karen (Gonzales) Rodriguez; her brother, Gilbert; her sisters, Armenta and Jenny; her grandchildren, Saveria Minor, Alyssa Jones, and Kosiah Gonzales; and her great-grandchildren, Mya Richardson, Maleek Minor, Annaleah Taylor, Prestigious Taylor, Samaria Taylor, Saraji Taylor, Kiaria Jones, and Elaya Jones.

A memorial service will be held in Lucy's honor on March 10, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 200 W. Sycamore Ave., Bloomfield, NM. Services will be officiated by Pastor Joel Gunn.
