Marilyn Benedict

Marilyn Benedict, 61, of Bloomfield NM, died on January 27, 2024.

She was born in Farmington NM on March 14, 1962 to Jesse Martinez and Ramonsita Sanchez. Marilyn attended Farmington High School and graduated to attend the University of New Mexico where she received a BA in Accounting. She went on to work for several organizations including Creamland Dairy, Dunes Casino, Little Sisters of the Poor, Sacred Heart Cathedral in Gallup and finally she was the Director of religious education for St. Mary and St. Rose parish in Bloomfield.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her father Jesse Martinez, step father Joe Sanchez and brother Raymond Martinez. She survived by her husband of 34 years, Paul Benedict and four children Justin Benedict, Anna Lujan, Emma Losoya, and Jacob Benedict. She was a proud grandmother to 5 wonderful grandchildren.

The rosary service will be at 3pm Sunday February 4th at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church Blanco NM, and the funeral and internment will be at 10am on Monday February 5th at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church Blanco NM. Her family asks that instead of flowers a donation be made in her memory to the Little sisters of the Poor, Gallup NM.
