Mark Bailey, 70, of Aztec, NM passed away on November 12, 2024, after an extended illness.
Mark was born on March 9, 1954, to Walter Ray Bailey and Hilda Black in Monticello, Utah. After graduating from Monticello High School, he followed a path into drilling that led him to work for himself, owning and operating Bailey Drilling Company, servicing the Four Corners area for over 45 years.
In 1980, Mark and Fawn Story married in Reno, NV. Mark went on to raise Fawn’s two boys, Darrel and Clinton Ferrier as his own. Mark also had two daughters, Teresa Weahkee and Crystal Barnett. He enjoyed prospecting, westerns and talking politics. Mark could be described as hardworking, kind, a jokester and loved his family.
Mark was preceded in death his parents Walter Ray Bailey and Hilda Black, Thomas Black (Stepfather), and his younger sister Jane.
Mark is survived by his wife, Fawn Bailey, Brother, Walter Bailey and family, Sister, Rose Valdez (Manuel) & family. His children, Teresa Weahkee (Shannon) & family, Crystal Barnett & family, Darrel (Michelle) & family and Clinton Ferrier (Tiffany) & family. His 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Services will be held at Summit Ridge Cemetery, Dolores, Co, at 1pm, Friday, November 22, 2024.
