Mary Lee Baker, 90, passed into God's loving arms July 21, 2023. Mary was born April 22, 1933 to Opal and Alfred Blakley. She was the oldest of 11 children.
Mary met the love of her life, Emsley Baker, at the drug store in Duncan Oklahoma, where he worked as a cook. It was love at first sight. They married February 7th, 1952 and were married almost 50 years when Emsley passed in 2002.
They moved to Farmington in 1967, and were active members of the community for the remainder of their lives.
Mary loved cooking and serving friends and family a fabulous meal and always served with a delicious dessert. Her door and dining room were always open to a friend or stranger. She welcomed everyone with a smile. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, and camping.
She played softball as a young woman, and one of her greatest pleasures was attending her grandchildren's sporting events.
Mary spent her last years at Namaste House, where she loved her new family of staff and fellow residents.
Mary is survived by her 3 children, Nita Endsley, Emsley Baker Jr. (Suzanne) Stan Baker (Melinda) Sisters: Ruby Clow, Annie Mudder, Brothers: Sonny, Chuck, Pat, Donny and Jerry Blakley. She leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Mary is preceded in death by her loving husband, Emsley, Parents Alfred and Opal Blakley, sister Helen Randolph, Brothers Alfred Jr and Cecil Blakley.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday July 27th at 11am at Emmanuel Baptist Church located at 211 W. 20th Street, Farmington, N.M. 87401
Cremation has taken place.
