Mary Kathleen Nelson

Mary passed on April 5th, 2024, in Farmington, New Mexico, at the age of 94. Mary was born on October 12th, 1929, in Wooster, Ohio to parents James Edward Rohr and Dorothy Virginia Bresson.

Kathy graduated from Wooster High school in 1947 then moved with her family to Durango, Colorado for her father's work. She met Ted Nelson and were married in Solvang, California in September 1950, right before Ted was called back into the Navy for the Korean War. Once he was honorably discharged, they moved to Farmington in 1952. They were married for 55 years. Kathy was a devoted wife and mother to 4 children and involved in the community. Everyone enjoyed her great sense of humor and storytelling. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the San Juan Regional Medical Center Auxiliary, and the SJCC Ladies Golf Association. She was a devoted FHS and Notre Dame football fan.

She was proceeded in death by her husband, Ted, her parents and sister Marian, brothers Roger and Harold.

 She is survived by her sons Steve (Susan), David (Carol), daughter Nancy (Don), son James (Samantha). She is also survived by her grandchildren Jason, Kyle (Sarah), Kevin (Jessica), Marcy (Kyle), Ryan (Marianna), Sarah (Ray), Thomas (Emma), Zachary, Paisley, and Noelle; and by her great grandchildren: Elle, Tyson, Benicio, Ethan, and Lillian. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside memorial is planned for later this year.
