Michael Eugene Farley Devoted Husband, Son, Brother, and Friend It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael E. Farley, a beloved husband, son, brother, and friend, who left us too soon. Michael passed away on October 12, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, joy, and a passion for life that touched everyone who knew him.
Born on May 11, 1957, Michael was known for his adventurous spirit, especially his love for racing. Whether on the track or among his family and friends, Michael thrived on the thrill of competition and the joy of shared experiences. His infectious smile and vibrant personality brought warmth and light to all who were fortunate to have raced alongside him. Michael worked for the City of Farmington for 23 years then the Bloomfield bus yard for the next 7. His passion was anything motor related. He also had a knack for front end alignments. He became an engineer on a fire truck. One of the many hidden talents that Mike had. If anyone ever needed help with their racecar Mike was there to help. He enjoyed helping the young upcoming drivers.
His passion for racing was not just about winning—it was about the connection he felt with the people who joined him on the journey. Michael lived life in the fast lane, always making time for those he loved, and inspiring others to live fully and fearlessly.
Michael is survived by his wife of 17 Years, his Mother Joann Farley, sister LeAnna (Leon) Hanhardt, brother Steve (Angie) Farley, 2 stepdaughters, 5 grandchildren, and countless cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones who will forever cherish the memories they created with him.
He will be remembered for his unwavering kindness, his deep love for family, friends; and his ability to bring people together in fun and laughter.
Michael is preceded by his father Eugene Farley.
Funeral Services Friday October 18th 10:00am at LDS 505 N Oliver Street, Aztec, NM, 87410.
A celebration of Michael’s life will be held on November 16th at Aztec Speedway at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the All Abilities Park in Farmington New Mexico (taapfoundation.com) in honor of his adventurous and generous spirit.
He will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
