Nathan Clark Jones, 65 was born to Kenneth Stanley Jones and Jessica Kennedy-Jones on April 14, 1958 in Clovis, NM. Nathan left this life on April 1, 2024 surrounded by loved ones. Nathan, his mom, and his brother moved to Farmington in 1970 where he spent most of his adult life.
Nathan was very talented in auto paint and body work, starting out working and learning the craft at Erikson Pontiac. A short time later, his brother started a paint and body business that specialized in semi-trucks. While working with his brother, Nathan created what later became the well know, two-toned blue stripes of Dawn Trucking.
Nathan was introduced to boating, fishing, and water activities at a young age by his aunt and uncle, Joyce, and Ed Hansen. Those activities turned into a lifelong love of boating that was passed to his children and grandchildren.
Nathan’s greatest passion in life was the freedom he felt while riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle out on the open road with the wind in his face and the sun on his back. Nathan was notorious for cruising his motorcycle never losing his baseball cap or bandana while riding.
In 1981, Nathan married Virginia (Ginny) McNeese and together, they had two children, Andrew and Erin.
In 1999, Nathan left Farmington, moving to Roswell, NM where he worked doing paint and fiberglass repair on aircraft. While he was in Roswell, he married Joell Christy. Within a few years, Nathan moved back to Farmington with Joell. Nathan spent the rest of his life in Farmington with Joell.
Nathan was preceded in death by both of his parents, his uncle Ed Hansen, close cousins Mark and Greg Hansen, and his best friends, Doug, and Henry (Buddy).
Nathan is survived by his children, Andrew (daughter in-law Nicole) and grandchildren Taley, Eladamri, and Penelope; his daughter Erin (and son-in law Aaron) and grandchildren Adrienne and Abigail; brother Jory; sister in-law Vicki; nephew Nathan; Ginny; Joell, and his extended family.
A celebration of Nathan’s life and his final Harley Davidson ride will be held in the summer of 2024.
