Farmington

Hey there! Let's add a pinch of playfulness to Granny's final chapter:

Heaven's kitchen has gained a new head chef, as Nelda Jo Lucero-Pearson, known far and wide as the great "Granny," hung up her apron for the last time and took her secret recipes up to the pearly gates on April 25, 2024. At 65 years young, Granny decided it was time to let the angles in on the secret of her heavenly bread. Born in the shimmering oasis of Las Vegas on December 14, 1958, she bet it all on love and hit the jackpot.

Granny, the queen of coziness and cookie conspiracies, has finished her last with us. She's left behind a legacy of love and a trail of cookies crumbs that lead straight to our hearts. Her sense of humor was a family heirloom, passed down with every chuckle and giggle.

She's now serenading the angels with her off-key renditions of " Stair way to Heaven," leaving her daughter Karen Aragon, her sons Melven Lucero and Brian Lucero, and her creeps - Philip Aragon, Anthony Aragon, Alexis Hartley, Erick Lucero, Kayla Aragon, Max Lucero, Malory Lucero, Damien Lucero. Her great-grandchildren, Layla Aragon, Adalynn Hartley, Lillian Aragon will no doubt inherit her knack for sneaky kitchen raids and joyful laughter's heard far and near.

Granny's sister Linda, brother Carl, nephew little Carl, and a roster of nieces and nephews will continue to pass down her famous cookie dough recipe. Granny's now sharing her kitchen wisdom with her late husband Mel, probably explaining that in heaven, calories truly don't count. While starting a food fight with her mom Clara, dad Wesley joined by her brother's Albert, Doug, as well as her sister's Sherill, Sharron. While having one more slice of Apple Pie.

Let's all gather with a spoonful of joy and a pinch of playfulness at 2111 W. Apache Street, Farmington, NM, to whip up a celebration of Granny's life. Bring your best smiles and a dollop of laughter as we honor the women who taught us that every meal should come with a side of fun. Granny's life was a recipe of happiness- now it's our turn to bake it forward. Here's to the lady that seasoned our lives with fun and proved that giggles really do make the best medicine.
