Nellie Howard

Nellie Frances Howard passed into Heaven on May 6, 2023. She was born October 3, 1933, to Charles and Edith Rhodes in Durango, Co.

She married Thomas Burch Howard on October 26, 1952, and they had three children-Bobbie Anderson (Frank), Brenda McDonald (Virgil), and Bill Howard (Shari). They were married 65 years before her beloved husband passed away in 2018. They had six grandchildren, Erin Chaffe (Brian), Chis McDonald (Sarah), Travis Anderson (Nadia), Nathan McDonald, Thomas Howard (Mica), and Lauren Smith (Chistopher). There are eight great-grandsons and numerous nieces and nephews.

Nellie loved her family and friends well. She enjoyed gardening, painting, knitting, crocheting, and being a domestic engineer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister and three brothers.

She will be greatly missed by those who love her and remain here, but we know, beyond all doubt, that she is celebrating in heaven as she waits for those of us who will join her.

A viewing is scheduled for Friday May 12, 2023 at 5:30pm to 7pm. Services are scheduled for Saturday May 13, 2023 at the First Baptist Church of Bloomfield at 11:00am with burial to follow at the Elco cemetery in La Plata, Colorado.
