Our dearly loved Nova Dean went to her heavenly home on July 10, 2024, from Farmington, New Mexico. Born November 29, 1933, in Okemah, Oklahoma to Glover Cleveland Rhea and Hattie Simmer Rhea. Nova Dean was the youngest of five siblings. She was a proud member of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation. She faithfully served her Lord and family for all of her adult life.

Nova Dean was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband Gordon Keith Smith; sisters Martha Rhea, Jean Miller, Allene Autaubo; and brothers Pompey and Arthur Rhea.

She is survived by her sons Thomas Keith Smith (Deb), Terry Gordon Smith (Karyn) and daughter Krista Dianne Edwards (John), Grandson Zackery Keith Smith (Natalie) and their children Tyler Stone (Ana), Alexis Akemann, Jada Nova Rhea Smith and Quinton Smith. Granddaughter Rebecca Rhea Markham (Brandi Clingerman) and their children Mariah Nicole Markham and son Jaxon, Anthony Thomas Markham and Zachary Hills. Also surviving are bonus grandchildren Devin and Katie DiTullio, Derek, Michelle and Kimber Rose DiTullio, and numerous dearly loved nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church in Farmington, followed by a reception afterward. 

In lieu of flowers, please consider honoring our mom with donations to First Baptist Church of Farmington, San Juan Regional Medical Center Auxiliary or New Mexico Baptist Children’s Home.
