It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia Sandefer, 82, of Farmington, NM, on January 1, 2025. Patricia was born in Dayton, Ohio, on November 27, 1942, to Hubert and Cecila Baker.
Patricia graduated from Omak Senior High in Omak, Washington, in 1960. After graduation, she moved to Farmington, New Mexico. A few years later, she met Douglas Sandefer, and they married on August 19, 1966. Together, Doug and Patricia owned and operated Doug’s Kawasaki for over 50 years. Their love for motorcycles took them to many places, including Japan, Greece, Switzerland, Hawaii, and several other destinations.
Doug and Patricia enjoyed daily walks in the beautiful Berg Park, accompanied by their Siberian husky dogs. Patricia had a passion for painting, singing in the choir, reading any book she could find, and watching her family compete in motorcycle races. And, of course, she had a special way of putting up with her grumpy Doug. Patricia was a kind, loving person who always saw the good in others.
We would like to express our deepest thanks to Three Rivers Assisted Living for all their care and support.
Patricia is preceded in death by her loving husband, Douglas Sandefer; her parents, Hubert and Cecila Baker; and her brother, Bill Baker.
She is survived by her son, Jason Sandefer; her daughter, Jennifer Derrera; her brother, James Baker; and her grandchildren, Haley Derrera, Rome Derrera, Jacob Sandefer, and Kobe Sandefer. She is also survived by extended family, George and Gina Shann.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Farmington Funeral Home, 2111 W. Apache St, Farmington, NM 87401. Brad Salzman will be officiating.
