Patricia Ann Vaughn

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Patricia Ann Vaughn, 77, of Bloomfield, NM. She passed away on March 12, 2025, in Farmington, NM. Patricia was born on December 2, 1947, in Maxwell, NM, to Tom and Mollie Mitchell.

Patricia dedicated 30 years of her life as a substance abuse counselor, a career she deeply loved. After retiring, she spent her time doing what brought her the most joy. She loved visiting the senior center, where she met Larry, and together they shared many adventures, one of her favorites being a trip to Alaska. She also enjoyed camping, attending NASCAR events, gardening, and, most of all, spending time with her family.

Patricia was preceded in death by her son, Waylon Vaughn; her parents, Tom and Mollie Mitchell; and her brothers, “Pinky” Mitchell and Gilbert Mitchell.

She is survived by her children, Cody (Alejandra) Vaughn, Dean Vaughn, Calista (Willey) Bernal, Lisa (Alex) James, and Stephanie (Tim) Shepard; her brothers, Gene Mitchell, Joe (Shirley) Mitchell, Anthony (Beth) Mitchell and her sister Yolanda (Raymond) Trujillo; as well as 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly. 

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Maxwell Cemetery in Maxwell, NM.

Honorary pallbearers will be Anthony Mitchell, Joe Mitchell, Ronnie Melendez, Gene Mitchell, Damon Wicketts, and Roman Vaughn.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Bloomfield Senior Center.
