Patrick Roy Baker passed away peacefully on September 11, 2024, at the age of 71. Pat was born on November 16, 1952, in Clinton, Iowa. He was later adopted into the loving family of Larry and Marjo Baker at the age of 7. After graduating from Bloomfield High School in New Mexico he attended Eastern New Mexico University where he obtained a bachelor’s degree with a major in electrical engineering. Upon graduating he promptly entered the oilfield industry building a lifelong career as a wireline logging engineer and ultimately becoming a manager at Basin Well Logging & Perforating.
Pat was a Christian and attended Calvary Chapel Church of Farmington, New Mexico. He loved to spend time outdoors doing various hobbies which included golfing, fishing, boating, working on cars, riding his Harley, going on road trips, and cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers. He will be remembered for his compassion, and his tireless dedication to his work and family.
Pat is preceded in death by his dad, Larry Baker of Fruitland NM; wife LuAnn Baker of Farmington, NM who passed away unexpectedly after a brief but loving 8 years of marriage.
Pat is survived by his beloved wife of 18 years, Sharla Baker; his sons, Jason Baker and wife Martha of Wylie, TX, Justin Baker and wife Nikki of San Angelo, TX; his step-daughters, Heather Lopez of Farmington, NM, Christina Cutshaw of Mesa, AZ, Shaylynn Nelson and husband Sean of Maricopa, AZ; 11 grandkids and 9 great-grandkids;, his mother, Marjo Baker of Fruitland, NM; his brother Lance Baker and wife Lisa of Hartford, SD; his sister Misty Noel and husband Greg of Farmington, NM.
