It is with great sadness that we are announcing the passing of our dad, Paul. He passed away on November 10, 2024, at the age of 83 at San Juan Regional Medical Center.
Paul was born on August 26, 1941, in Farmington, NM to Margarita (Valencia) and Eutimio Archibeque.
He graduated in 1959 from the first class at Bloomfield High School where he played basketball and football. That same year he met the love of his life Rosie (Sanchez). They married on July 23, 1960. In their 62 years of marriage, they had five children.
Paul was very dedicated to his Catholic faith and church- St. Mary’s in Bloomfield. He spent endless hours helping build the first church hall along with maintaining the grounds. His life was always for his family, he had so much love for each one of us.
Dad loved to fish, hunt, camp, and spend time with his family, Sunday breakfasts were a must for him.
He worked with the building of Navajo Dam; he helped at Bob Whites Orchard. He worked at Navajo Mine and Retired at 56 years old in 1998 from San Juan Mine as an Electrical Superintendent. Dad made so many friends there and would often share with us his memories.
Paul is preceded in death by his parents Eutimio and Margarita, in-laws Elena and Manuel Sanchez, five brothers, his wife Rosie (Sanchez) Archibeque (Vieja), grandson Anthony Martinez, and granddaughter Sharlee Norman.
He is survived by his children Denise (Favian) Serrano, Paul (Diane) Archibeque, Norman Archibeque, Diane (Wilfred) Martinez, Dwayne (Stacy) Archibeque, 11 Grandchildren, 19 Great-Grandchildren, and 1 Great-Great-Grandchild.
Pallbearers are Michael Serrano, Gabriel Archibeque, Jeremy Archibeque, Isaac Sandoval, Jerome Martinez, and Damian Martinez.
Honorary Pallbearers are Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren.
A rosary will be recited on Monday November 25, 2024, at 6:00PM at St. Mary’s Bloomfield by Deacon Pat Valdez.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday November 26, 2024, at 10:00AM at 307 N. Church (St. Mary’s Bloomfield). Officiated by Reverend Jim Walker, Reverend Francis Akano, Deacon Roger Garcia, and Deacon Pat Valdez.
Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery (Bloomfield).
