Phyllis Trujillo

Phyllis Mary Sotelo Trujillo., 83, passed from this earth on Sunday, May 13, 2018 in Farmington, NM. Phyllis was born September 6, 1934 in Rosa, New Mexico to Susie Marie Marquez Sotelo and Jose Rosendo Sotelo. Her husband, Donaciano Trujillo, Jr. passed away on January 7, 2018 after 63 years of marriage.  Phyllis is survived by her son Don Trujillo, daughters Donna Thomas and Sharon Trujillo. Phyllis had two grandsons, James Hackett and Daniel Trujillo; two granddaughters, Monica Trujillo and Desirae Thomas, great-granddaughter Sadie Hackett and great-grandsons Joseph Hackett and James Hackett, Jr.

Phyllis’ surviving siblings are Mary Jaramillo, Tommie Benavidez and Miquel Sotelo, all living in Sacramento, Ca. along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Phyllis and Don lived in Great Falls, MT early in their marriage while Don was in the Air Force.  In 1959, they were permanently stationed in Sacramento, Ca. where they raised their three children. She was a licensed beautician and worked as a nurse’s assistant at a residential care.

In 1980, Phyllis and family moved to Farmington where she worked over 25 years at Stage Clothing Store.  She was a people person and enjoyed helping her customers.  She touched the lives of many with her positive and caring attitude and will be dearly missed. She was a loving and supporting wife, mother, grandmother, sister and prima.

Church services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 500 N Mesa Verde Avenue, Aztec, NM 87410. Rosary at 10:00 a.m. followed by Mass.
