Rachel Kahwajy

Rachel Marie Kahwajy was born in Farmington, NM on December 11, 1991 to Charlie Kahwajy and Rosalyn (Renee) Potter. When she was just an infant, her family moved to Albuquerque, NM where she was super excited to see the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. Her favorite balloon was Elsie the Cow. She battled with her siblings for the attention of her parents: Aaron, Kimberly, Danielle, and Nicole. Her grandfather Chuck Kahwajy provided her with her Lebanese heritage. Kahwajy means coffee maker, although she never made the coffee.

Rachel brought two beautiful girls into this world! Briley inherited those Lebanese eyebrows while Trinity inherited her stubbornness. Both girls inherited Rachel's beautiful blue eyes.

Rachel was preceded in death by grandparents: Jane Kahwajy, Ronald "Poppy" Potter, and Helen "Tiny" Potter. She is survived by her parents, Charlie and Rosalyn; Grandfather "Jido" Chuck Kahwajy; Siblings - Aaron Kahwajy, Kimberly (LT) Scott, Danielle Peterson, and Nicole Brimhall. Rachel leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Her and cousin Kindra were inseparable growing up. They spent lots of time with their Poppy Ron.

Rachel's earthly chains were broken on June 18, 2023, freeing her from the struggles many face in a lifetime. A memorial will be held at Farmington Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2023. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Masada House at 610 N. Dustin in Farmington or The Well at 309 W. Animas in Farmington.
