Richard Lewis Hodges, age 90, passed from this life on October 12,2023 with his family by his side. He was born August 12,1933 in Los Chavez, NM, the youngest child of Charles and Manilla Hodges. He spent his childhood in Belen NM and his youth and young adulthood in Anadarko, OK
He served in the 937th Field Artillery Battalion, Baker Battery also known as the Arkansas Long Toms. He fought in the Korean War on the front lines.
Upon his return he married Doris October 17, 1952.They were just shy 5 days from their 71st anniversary when he passed away.
He studied diesel mechanics and graduated from Oklahoma A&M, after graduation he went to work for Halliburton Oilwell Cementing Company (HOWCO) and worked his whole career with them until his retirement.
He loved the outdoors and tending to a garden every year. He loved his family and he always had time for each of us.
He is survived by his wife Doris and children Debra (Patrick), Richard (Lety), Douglas (Lori), Russell (Lora), Darrell.
7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. His passing has left a huge hole in our hearts that will never be filled.
Rest in peace Dad, until we are together again. We love you.
Services will be held Wednesday October 18 ,2023 at 1:00 at Farmington Funeral Home
Interment will be at Memory Gardens
