Robert Lewis Ukele

Robert Lewis Ukele passed away unexpectedly on Mar. 25, 2025. He was born Mar. 9, 1938 in Rifle, CO to Mark Emmanuel Ukele and Esther Ruby Hasselbush.

He graduated from high school in Rifle, CO, was later drafted into the army in 1962 and discharged in 1964.

He subsequently moved to Aztec where he met and married Jane Heidelberg in 1967. They had two children, Trisha and Cliff. He also helped to raise a stepdaughter, Selina.

He was later married to Kay Martin for 5 years, afterwards met Margie Edmondson with whom he spent 36 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Edward and William, a twin sister, Betty Houseman, and his life partner, Margie Edmondson.

He is survived by his children, Trisha Ukele-Clevenger (Dana), Cliff Ukele, stepdaughter Selina Seyfert (Fred), and first wife Jane Scarborough.

He was a forgiving and loyal man. He was loved by all that knew him and will be truly missed. Visitors were always greeted with a warm and inviting smile, and his love of animals was well-known, especially horses. He is also survived by his treasured horse Ippy-Cat and his dog, Ozzy.
