Rose D. Smith-Malouff, 81 of Kirtland, passed away peacefully September 26, 2018. She was born July 28, 1937 in La Jara, CO to Howard and Gertrude Smith.
She had four brothers Stewart, Raymond, Dale and Kale and one sister Lois. Rose married James W. Malouff November 1, 1954 at he St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Capulin, CO. With this union they had eight children, 5 sons; Eugene, Mark, Edward, Jimmy, Raymond and three daughters Marion, Jeanine and Karen. Rose worked very hard in her life raising her children and working her business. She considered everyone a friend. She especially loved her chickens.
Rose is preceded in death by her parents Howard and Gertrude Smith; loving husband Jim Malouff; son Jimmy Daniel; brothers Stewart, Raymond, and Dale; sister Lois Smith; her in-laws William and Lyvonne Malouff.
She is survived by her brother Kale (Margie) Smith; her children Eugene (Joelle) Malouff, Marion Malouff, Mark Malouff, Edward (Tina) Malouff, Jeanine (Gary) Hensley, Karen (Rick) Reichoff and Raymond Malouff; 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren, and many other family and friends.
There will be a viewing for Rose on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at Farmington Funeral Home from 6-7pm. There will be a funeral service for her on Friday, October 5, 2018 at 10am at St. Joseph's Cathic Church in Capulin, CO, 19895 County Road 8 Capulin, CO. Interment will follow at the Capulin Cemetery.
