Rosita Adelia Trujillo

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Rose Atencio Trujillo announce her passing on September 29, 2024. She was surrounded by her loving family and passed peacefully. Rose was born Rosita Adelia Atencio to Alejandro and Lucy Atencio of Blanco, NM on January 10, 1942. Through her school years she was known as Rose. Rose was the salutatorian of the first graduating class of Bloomfield High School in 1959. She married her high school sweetheart at the age of 17, Leonard Trujillo. They enjoyed 65 years of marriage in their farm in Blanco. Rose was a devoted mother to Tony, Mark, and Darrell. Rose had a wonderful career with Bloomfield Schools and retired in 1994.

Rose is preceded in death by her parents Alejandro and Lucy Atencio, her brothers, Jose B. Atencio, Ray Atencio, Leo Atencio, and Rubel Atencio, and her Great-Granddaughter Virginia-Jaye Trujillo. Rose is survived by her husband Leonard Trujillo, her sister Patsy Chavez, her sons, Tony (Maria) Trujillo, Mark (Kathy) Trujillo, Darrell (Carrie) Trujillo, her grandchildren, Phillip (Maria) Trujillo, Rachel (Chris) Snell, Chris (Amber) Trujillo, Jose Trujillo, Clay (Rose) Trujillo. And her great-grandchildren, Teresa-Marie Trujillo, Aurora Trujillo, Jace Rose Snell and Phillip-John Trujillo. Rose was a wonderful wife, mother, and nana. She will be remembered for the love she shared with her family, friends and community. Rose will be greatly missed. 

Memorial services will be held 10:30 am Wednesday October 9,2024 at First Baptist Church of Bloomfield, 200 W. Sycamore Ave. Bloomfield, NM 87413. A reception will follow at the church.
