Sidney Christensen

Sidney (Sid) Duane Christensen, 90, was born on May 28, 1933, in Sunol, Nebraska to Carlos E. Christensen and Donna M. Owens. Sid entered the Gates of Heaven on January 11, 2024. He was a resident of Farmington, NM. since 1965.

Sid grew up in Nebraska and graduated from Bridgeport High School. He joined the Army and served from 1959 to 1961 at For Lewis, Washington. He excelled in the Rifle Brigade of 47th Infantry. He was honorably discharged in 1961.

Sid met the love of life Margaret (Marge) G Berger in Watford, ND. They were married on September 10, 1954. They have two daughters Janet Sherlene and Dawne Sue.

Sid worked in the oilfield most of his life. He worked as a Driller from 1961 for Nobles and Brinkerhoff. In 1965 he went to work for Dowell Oilfield Service as a supervisor. He retired in 1991.

Sid and Marge traveled to many places around the states and visited family pulling their camper. They enjoyed going camping and fishing in the mountains with family and friends. They spent the last 20 years going to Bullhead, AZ. For the winter months.

Sid is survived by his wife Marge of 69 years, and daughter Dawne (Johnny) Sandoval. Their grandchildren JJ (Amanda) Sandoval, Dacia (Matt) Wood, Bryan (caitlyn) Sandoval, Alicia (Josh) Ashton all from Farmington, NM and granddaughter Megan (Kevin) Rendahl of Mesa, AZ. They have 14 great grandchildren.

Sid is proceeded in death by his parents, Carlos and Donna Christensen, sister Darlene, brothers Doug, Gene, and Bill. His daughter Janet Hildreth and granddaughter Erin Wolf.

A celebration of life is scheduled for Monday January 22, 2024, at 2:00pm at Three Rivers Estates Senior Living and Memory Care, 981 W. Broadway, Farmington, NM. 87401.
