Steven Alan Vitzthum

Steven Alan Vitzthum was born on November 1^st, 1955 in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Conrad &June Vitzthum. He passed after a 4 year courageous battle with cancer, with his family by his side, on September 11^th, 2022. Steven was 66 years old.

Steve married Jeanette (Jeanie) Vitzthum on February 15, 1986 in Farmington New Mexico. They had 3 children together; Joseph Vitzthum, Nichole Barr and Jennifer Hernadez.

Steve served in the eighty-second airborn division of the US Army at Fort Bragg NC from 1977 to 1980. In that time he had many experiences he took with him through the rest of his life such as parachuting from airplanes; he was known as the executive chef. After concluding his service he received the national defense service medal, parachute badge, expert badge w-16. After serving in the military Steve went on to work for Quadco for over 30 years and later at pesco.

Steve loved camping, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his mother; June Vitzthum and his grandparents Otto Gustav Schuhardt & Marguerite Houck; John Vitzthum & Daisy Weiss

Steve is survived by his wife Jeanie Vitzthum; son joseph Vitzthum and wife Amanda Vitzthum; Daughters Nichole Barr & Jennifer Hernandez

Grandchildren Nolan Pitchford, Jasper Vitzthum, Serena Barr, Ethan Barr and Raiden Barr

His father Conrad Vitzthum and wife Susan; sister Leslie Hugo and husband Karl

Nephews Michah Hugo, Kyle Hugo and niece Chandra Fleck

Services will be held at Farmington Funeral home 2111 W Apache October 1st from 2pm to 4pm.
