Susan Pierce

Farmington - Susan Pierce was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She started her new journey on February 3, 2022 at age 80. She suffered from Alzheimer's disease. Her husband and sons were present for her passing in an Albuquerque nursing home.

She was born to Bessie Becenti and Marion Redmule Burton in Fruitland, NM in the early 1940's. She went to work as a nurse at San Juan Regional Medical Center in Farmington, New Mexico in 1962. She had two children: Christopher and Theresa. She married Henry Pierce, Sr in 1969 and had three children together: Henry Jr, Marlene, and Joseph. She put family first and selflessly delayed her education. In 1993, she earned her High School Diploma at the age of 52. In 1997, she earned her Pharmacy Technician certificate at the age of 56. She retired with her husband. They traveled together; she loved to crocheted & visit family.

A viewing at the Farmington Funeral Home (2111 West Apache Street, Farmington, NM 87401) is scheduled for 12:15 p.m. on Wednesday, February 9, 2022. The burial will take place at the Kirtland Fruitland Cemetery, #59 Road 6580, Kirtland, NM 87417 at 1:30 pm. Donations can be accepted at 812 Camino Rd, Bloomfield, NM 87413
