Terry Jon Greiman

The family of Terry Jon Greiman, of Bloomfield NM, is saddened to announce his passing on Thursday, 6 February at the age of 86 years. Terry was born in Mason City, Iowa in 1938 and grew up in Garner, Iowa. After 12 years of fighting, Terry succumbed to the cruelty of lymphoma cancer. 

Terry was a devoted husband of 61 years, father and grandfather. Terry is survived by his wife Rita, son Chris, his wife Tara, and Grandchildren Hayden and Tristyn, married to Thomas Pritters. Terry is preceded in death by his son Brenden Jon, parents Howard and Pauline, and brothers Harley and Greg. 

Terry served in the Marines as an F8 Crusader Crew Chief, served as missionary at the Winnebago Children's Home in Wisconsin, was a Forest Ranger in Wyoming's Bridger Wilderness, and School Teacher for the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Never content to sit still in retirement, he worked at the Bloomfield Fitness Center doing what he loved. 

Terry was an avid trail runner, earning the nickname “Road Runner” from his students and set many age group records (some still standing) in New Mexico and Colorado mountain runs. He loved the outdoors, was a hunting enthusiast, and loved everything about waterfowl and aircraft. Throughout his life, Terry enjoyed his running groups, his friends, his Navajo students and people, as well as his volunteer work at Bloomfield United Methodist Church. 

A wonderful husband and father, faithful friend, patriotic American, and faithful Christian - Terry will be missed. 

The family is especially grateful for the San Juan Oncology Center for their unfailing care and commitment during his illness. 

There will be a memorial service for Terry at Bloomfield First United Methodist Church on Saturday, 15 February at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to donate to San Juan Oncology or Bloomfield First United Methodist Church.
