Tim Alan Emery, 58, passed away on February 11, 2025, in Aztec, NM. Tim was born and raised in Aztec, NM. He always said he went all the way around the world to end up back on the same street. Tim enjoyed many things such as hunting, fishing, going to Navajo Lake, sitting on the porch with Steve and Travis (always observing lake rules), the annual dad and Munchy fishing tournament, teaching the kids to fish on the Scooby doo fishing pole, camping, shed hunting, cruzin in the hills, farming, ranching, doing things we don’t tell mom about, dance dad extraordinaire, master prop builder, riding dirt bikes with his friends, his brother Mark and son Brandon. He could often be found in the sunniest hottest part of the patio with a good book and a Coors Light, “sweatin”. He most of all enjoyed spending time with his wife, beloved children, grandchildren, bonus daughter and bonus grandchildren, family and friends.
Tim was the hardest working man you will ever meet. He worked from a very young age and tried to work right up to his last days. He often would tell stories of when he drove a tow truck in Arizona while attending UTI and many, many stories of the days he did hazardous waste cleanup, traveling all over the United States with James and Vale. He then settled down back home and worked in the oilfield, which he loved and was so incredibly knowledgeable about. If you were inclined to learn, you were gonna get a crash course so full of information, your head would spin and by the end you could “shave and get a job”.
Tim and Cristy met February 6, 2006, before the end of the night that boy followed that girl right into the girl's bathroom at the Rookies, asked her if he could kiss her, she said yes, and that kiss melted those two hearts together forever. January 2009, they bought a cute little farmhouse on the very road he grew up on and joined their families together. He worked so hard on that little farm, anything we dreamed we wanted he would get out a note pad and pencil, sketch something down, go to the lumber store, get a whole cart full of supplies, come home and all of a sudden, we would have a chicken coop, stairs, a patio, or anything else we dreamed of. I still don’t know how he did that. He is a remarkable man who left a huge impression on anyone he met. He had the biggest smile and most beautiful kind eyes and will be so dearly missed.
Tim is survived by his wife Cristy Emery, children Caitlin (Ryan) New Caney, Texas, Hailey, San Jose, California, Brandon (Erin) Aztec, NM, Miranda (Ashton) Farmington, NM, two grandchildren Eridaunie and Maxson, Brother Mark (Charlotte), Farmington, NM, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and dozens of cousins. Tim is proceeded in death by his parents, Ernie and Linda Emery, Sister Lisa Emery, Paternal Grandparents, Sherman and Wanda Emery, Maternal Grandparents Winston and Annabelle Marks.
Tim and I had the opportunity to talk about what he wanted for his memorial, and he said: 1. Do not bury me on good farmland 2. Have a party celebrate my life, not my death. So, we are gonna have a party. Tim loved the outdoors, and sun and nature. Tim’s party and celebration will be this summer, June 21, 2025, 3:00 pm at the Emery home.
