Timothy Dean Carver was born on December 24, 1962 to Donna Mae Carver and Donald Lee Carver Sr in Klamath Falls Oregon. Tim left us unexpectedly on Monday, April 22, 2019 in Farmington, New Mexico. He was preceded in death by his mother, brother-in law Wendall Webb and grand parents. He is survived by his father Donald L. Carver Sr, brother Donald Lee Carver Jr (Lisa) of Little Rock Arkansas, sister Becky Rosenthal of Dallas, TX, Chuck Carver (Wendy) of Thermopolis WY, and sister Donna Webb of Farmington, nieces Madeline Carver, Jennifer Bobo, Amanda Rosenthal, Erica Macie, Sondra Carver, and Lorraine Lehman and nephews Van Carver, Jacob Carver and Tommie Webb and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He is also survived by lifetime friends Casey Davis and Diana Reynolds. He will be missed deeply by family, friends, co-workers, and consumers of San Juan Center for Independence.
It is very hard to consolidate an awe inspiring life in a few paragraphs. Tim left a mark on the entire community, especially those with disabilities. His life work was helping people to be independent no matter their circumstances. He was a founding member of the team that started San Juan Center for Independence, where he worked as the Chief Financial officer for 17 years.
During this time they went from a small mobile home in Aztec to the Burlington Building on 30th Street and ultimately built the facility of their dreams on San Juan Boulevard. Not only was Tim the CFO he was also instrumental in creating many outdoor spaces that will be enjoyed long into the future. An accessible garden, fruit orchard, sensory garden, and ultimately the accessible greenhouse that is currently being built are all part of his legacy.
Tim lived life to the fullest. He never let his unique abilities stop him from pursuing his dreams or helping anyone in need. Moving forward Tim would want us all to live lives of inclusion, kindness and love just like he did. A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 26, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at San Juan Center for Independence. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to San Juan Center for Independence Greenhouse Fund in Tim’s memory. Be not afraid, Tim will live on in each of us and through the work that he did.
