Timothy Hunt

Timothy Brett Hunt passed away unexpectedly on January 27, 2021. He was born January 31, 1966 in Farmington, NM. to Darrell and Kim Hunt. Tim was over two months premature and only weighed 2 pounds 10 ounces. The nurses called him "TinyTim" over the weeks he was in an incubator. His small size didn't last long and he grew quickly into a normal sized boy. The family moved to the Denver area in 1969, then moved back to Flora Vista, NM. in 1976.
Tim was quite an athlete , won first place in a BMX race with his old Schwinn bicycle. He was in YAFL for 3 years and also PAL wrestling. He was a star football and wrestling athlete in junior high and in high school. He was the state wrestling Champion in 1982 at 155 lbs. He graduated from Aztec High School in 1984. He loved fishing and going to Lake Powell with his dad and his brothers. He had no fear and would try anything.
Tim was diagnosed with schizophrenia in his twenties and sadly chose to self-medicate, leading to an addiction for the rest of his life. We loved him dearly and we'll always miss him and his great smile.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Chad, his grandparents and all of his uncles.
He is survived by his parents, sisters Jonna Sharpe and Kathy Hunt and brother Greg Hunt and a huge extended family.
There will be a private family graveside service at Kirtland Fruitland Cemetery.
