Tycie "Tye" Henderson of Glendale, Arizona went home to be with Jesus on February 28, 2023 at the age of 94 with her family by her side.
Tye was born to Marlin Smith Jameson and Lottie Pearl (Jackson) Jameson on October 12, 1928 in Coleman,Texas.
On February 5, 1956, Tycie married James C. Henderson. She was a devoted wife and friend to her husband for 64 years until his death in 2020. They resided in Arizona for 19 years before moving to Farmington, NM where she resided for 46 years. Tye was a resident of Glendale, Arizona at the time of her death.
She is preceded in death by her son Jeffrey Bryan Henderson, parents, sisters Ada Jean Johnson, Bobby and Charlotte Jameson, brothers Dale and Rusty Jameson and great grandson Jackson Dean Carter.
She is survived by sons Jack Henderson and wife Anne of Ajo, Az, Jim Henderson and wife Rose of San Jose, Ca, daughter Carol Carter and husband Harold of Mt. Pleasant, Tx, sister Mildred Jo Upshaw of Cottonwood, Az; grandchildren Tonya Avery, Jeremy Carter, Heather Ponicsan, Aaron Lytle, Justin Lytle, Brian Blackmer and Alyson Blackmer; great grandchildren Austin Avery, Sydney Avery, Chloe Carter, Brandon Carter, Taylor Gray, Alex Lytle, Rylie Lytle and Carter Lytle. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Tycie was a member of the Riverstone Methodist Church in Farmington where she was very active in a weekly bible study group. She was a loving, dedicated wife, mother, friend, sister and community member. Her hobbies included quilting, cooking, reading and spending time with her family.
Funeral arrangements are by Farmington Funeral Home, 2111 West Apache Street where a private family service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on March 8, 2023.
Burial and a private ceremony will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 6917 E. Main Street.
