Vera Mabel Harrison Forster born in Roswell to Joseph Kirby “JK” Harrison and Vera Ella Brooks Harrison. Vera joined her heavenly Father November 13, 2018 after a rich and fulfilling life. Those who survive her will miss her as she was a loving, caring Mother, Grandmother and friend.
Vera was raised on the family farm in Roswell. She graduated from Roswell High. This was a memorable time in her life as she often reminisced about the farm, her family, family friends and love of horses.
During WWII , Vera served as a switchboard operator at Walker Air Force Base, where she met and supported many of the young men and women being deployed to war.
Vera met Erhard William “Bill” Forster in Roswell and they married on January 10, 1952 and traveled around New Mexicowith Mountain Bell, settling in Farmington in 1960 to raise her family.
Vera was an accomplished painter, avid rock collector and appreciated all that nature had to offer. She enjoyed spending time in the mountains of New Mexico and Colorado and loved all the birds, animals, landscapes, cloud shapes and star gazing.
She worked at Sussex Chiropractic for many years. Vera obtained her Realtors License at age 70 . She loved hunting and fishing and visiting her extended family in Roswell and Capitan, NM.
Vera was preceded in death by her husband Bill Forster, parents JK and Vera; brothers Tom, Joe and Charles Harrison; sisters Margaret McDaniel and Helen Whisenand, granddaughter Kim McDaniel and nephew James McDaniel
Vera is survived by son: Terry Shellcrosslee (Nancy); daughters,Barbara Warnock, Cindy Mitchell, and Pam Valencia (Lonnie); Grandchildren, Rhonda Trotsky (Pete); Terry Lynn Shellcrosslee; Robert Warnock (Pat); Jeff Warnock (Lauren);Kim Curtis (Steve); Kara Devey (Alex); Deakan Mitchell; Staci Babcock; Kristin Baldwin (Ralph) and 21 Great grandchildren and five, Great Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews who she loved to visit with regularly. Funeral services for Vera will be Monday December 3, 2018 @ 11:00 at Farmington Funeral Home, 2111 West Apache St. Farmington N.M. 87401.
