Waverly Thomas Calamia, 76, passed away peacefully at 4:15 on Saturday evening, September 18, 2021, in Aztec. Waverly was born on October 01, 1944, to Thomas Joseph Calamia and Evelyn Marie Gremillion Calamia. He was a native of New Orleans, Louisiana.

Waverly attended highvschool at Slidell High in Slidell, Louisiana and graduated in 1964. From there, he proudly served his country in the United States Army. He graduated from the University of Louisiana in August of 1984. He was an alumnist with a bachelor of Science in the field of Construction. Waverly was a retired home builder and inspector. He was a spiritual man who enjoyed fishing on the Navajo Lake and working around his home and property. He loved football, especially when LSU was playing.

Waverly was preceded in death by his parents Thomas Joseph and Evelyn Marie Calamia.

Waverly is survived by his son, Waverly Charles Calamia of Mandevilla, LA. His daughter, Jennifer Rebecca Calamia of Aztec, NM. His brother, Thomas Joseph Calamia, Jr. of Port Allen, LA. Sisters Deborah Ann Davis (Charles) of Central, LA and Phyllis Mary Lerma (Benny) of Atlanta, TX. His grandchildren, Jason Tyler Calamia and Sarah Nicole Milligan, 4 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Waverly will be cremated and a small celebration of life will be held at his home, 55 Road 2635, Aztec, NM, on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 2:00pm. Jon Vernon to officiate.
